#IMWAYR and Monday Made It

It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now… who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!

Our Kid Lit to YA version is hosted by Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers.
GREAT IDEA! Check out all of the What Are You Reading? participants for title ideas.

My favorite of all of them was probably The Book of Lost Things. It was an ARC from NetGalley so I'll post a better review later in September. I think it comes out in early October.
I really liked the Classics Illustrated Wind in the Willows. Only that sort of binding never lasts. So I don't know if I'll get it.
Anyway. My least favorite was probably the Llama Llama one, which is surprising. Just seemed a little ... forced. But the topic is useful.

Next week? Well. I have these ...

(Can you tell I need more shelf space? Hurry up and get me the estimate on a wall of shelves, cabinet maker for the new place! So I know whether it's completely out of the question and I have to try and put together IKEA or whether it is going to happen!)

Plus all but the Lost Things ARC from last week. And I'd like to do another B&N picture book run. I feel like this guy even though I can't read for as long as I used to.

(Pinterest didn't give a real link ... and I'm going to just go with the one stamped on the image and not get it directly. Is that a terrible example of digital citizenship?)

School projects are still at a mid-point. Nothing's really FINISHED. #oops #whatdidIDOalllastweek #andIworktwodaysthisweekandnext #andthatsREALmytimeisnotmyownworknotsetupwork

Here's a project my mom had to come fix. Yes, I'm a grownup. Yes, she had to come fix it. Apparently I did not stir the paint well enough. Plus my brushstrokes were so ugly. So she fixed it. I'm such a Want to Be DIY-er on bigger projects ... but then I get frustrated when they don't work out.

Here's a sort of first pic. Should've gotten close up on the decorative painting. Someone did much work and I SANDED IT ALL OFF because hello, EIGHTIES. The top is not as dark as it looks in the second pic. And now it will go back into storage because things are running behind on the new place.
Isn't the pedestal LOVELY? Didn't change that.

This is really where I might be crazy. The hinges are cooler up close. And all the reclaimed door headboards all over Pinterest? Not as easy as it looks. Plus ... is this lead paint? Granted I am not going to be gnawing on my headboard but still.

  1. I've reached the point in my life where I just want to buy something new or do without! So what does my daughter bring home? A wing chair in avocado and red fruit print in terrible condition. She adores it and sees great potential. I'm starting to understand why her mother wrinkled her nose at my entire first apartment. The table looks great, though! You have more energy than I have!

  2. Looks like you are taking on some fun projects! I have Mister Max on my pile for this month, hopefully I will get to it soon. I feel like I soared through books last week and hope I can keep it up this week. Enjoy!

    Here's what we're reading...

  3. That table looks lovely - and I am trying to imagine the doors as a headboard. You certainly have the enthusiasm and vision it takes to do these projects! Plus, you make the time to read. Awesome!
