Scaredy Squirrel Goes to Camp

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Scaredy Squirrel and I have a lot in common when it comes to thoughts of camping. It's a hate/love relationship.

Similar to other SS titles ... a little hard to read out loud with all of the small details ... but worth it.

Will DEFINITELY be getting this for the school collection! When I told a couple first grade boys that I'd just heard a new SS would be coming out in April they were all "Can I be the first one to check it out?" That's what I'm talking about, people. That's why I have a cool job. :)

On a totally unrelated note ... TLs out there.
Do you ever do a bunch of planning for something classes say they want ... and then have them back out at the last minute? Or (even WORSE) not ever show up and then "Oh, I forgot." I'm trying to be understanding and flexible but it keeps happening and it wastes so much of my time. Guess what. I work hard to come up with lessons. They don't just appear out of thin air. Once or twice I could understand. Several times? Makes me feel a little grumpy. Then I have to remember the kids appreciate what I do. :/

And I know the teachers do, too, for the most part. Just overwhelmed and not thinking. So what do I do? Quit "wasting" my time planning? Cause I can't find a pattern for when people will follow through and when they won't. Even gave them several times over the past week. Never showed up.

Now back to SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Should have more reading finished by the March 18 What Are You Reading Monday. :)
