It's (almost) Monday! Again!

It's Monday! What are you Reading? is a meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journeys. It is a great way to recap what you read and/or reviewed the previous week and to plan out your reading and reviews for the upcoming week. It's also a great chance to see what others are reading right now… who knows, you might discover that next “must read” book!

Our Kid Lit to YA version is hosted by Teach Mentor Texts.
GREAT IDEA!

What I Read This Week
The Future of Us
Over and Under the Snow
and ... that's about it

Coming Up

Darth Paper Strikes Back (ACK! T.A. will be at my school on Thursday and I haven't read it yet!)
Tuesdays at the Castle
books by Jerry Pallotta (he will be talking to the K-2 kiddos in about two weeks)

Eventually
January was supposed to be my get my Netgalley queue under control. Still have quite a few. Plus a maxed out holds list at the public library.
Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland
Spellbound (book two of the Shadows series)

I really, really hope I can get more in but ugh. Not super efficient with my time so things that shouldn't take so long just do. And there's a lot to do.

  1. Deeeeeep breaths! Presentations will be fine. Interview will be fine-- why not. Both things are instances where YOU get to tell everyone how fabulous you are! As for inventory, try to get a couple of parent volunteers to help. Remember, that part of your task list is easy-- just time consuming. It all gets done somehow. You don't have to blog every day!

  2. Thanks. Deep breaths. OH, I KNOW! If we ever met in person (and you've probably figured out online) I don't really know how to relax or properly delegate or prioritize and say "I can't do everything so this is what I am going to do." :/ Probably won't see a lot of blogging the next little while (though I was on a roll and I hate to spoil it!) Was on a roll with commenting, too, and that has been sacrificed.
Our super faithful volunteers are up on campus every day ... but they are running the PTA! Pretty much by themselves, too. So not been a lot of help on that front.

  3. Oh, enjoy the visit from Tom Angleberger! It's a fun, quick read; I'm actually working on a blog post about Darth Paper because my kids and I recently read it together. My daughter and I met him at our local children's bookstore this fall. He's great! Can you guess which of his characters he was most like in middle school?

Love the "Keep Calm" sign. Sending calming thoughts to you this week!

  4. Enjoy having Tom Angleberger visit- he is so much fun! And I really enjoyed Darth Paper even more than Origami Yoda- you'll love it :)

Didn't you love Over and Under the Snow?! Kate is brilliant. And I am so looking forward to The Future of Us.

  5. It sounds like you're so-o-o busy, & it's only Monday. Good luck with the tremendously, ever-challenging balance! I liked hearing about your reading & your challenges. Must get The Future of Us!
